Crash Course in Media Literacy
During an intense, information-packed workshop, students will gain exposure to a range of basic concepts and practices in the field of media literacy. They will engage in writing and drawing exercises related to important moments from media literacy history such as Marshall McCluhan’s famous slogan, the media is the message or Socrates’ thought-provoking wariness about the invention of writing, or Neil Postman’s worry that we may be amusing ourselves to death.
