Photo destinations are typically followed by a fetishization of the atmosphere by multiple influencers or even just high geo-tags on Instagram. What we can envision for amazing negative space would entail a large city, a beach or a street art. The last place many would aspire to build their portfolio would be a college residence hall. However, SCAD Atlanta’s residence hall, Forty, offers one key aspect that photographers truly care about: lighting.
FORTY, known as the newest residence hall available for SCAD Atlanta students is one of SCAD’s latest projects to enhance student living. Of course, this also includes a balcony on the first floor that offers a mesmerizing view and a catalyst for sunlight.
What’s convenient about this balcony is the white solid walls that bounce sunlight to offer great contrast and makes PhotoShop projects quite easy if you don’t have your own white solid backdrop or professional studio.
To visit the Forty balcony, you must be a SCAD student or gain permission through SCAD.
