  • SCAD closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Atlanta, Savannah) – Jan. 17

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, SCAD offices and academic buildings in Atlanta and Savannah will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, and classes will not be in session. Makeup classes are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 21.

Learn how contemporary playwrights and screenwriters move through the protagonist’s journey with SCAD dramatic writing professor Renee Bishop!

During the workshop, students will learn about the dramatic elements that make up entertainment writing and discover how MTV changed television and a shark upended cinema!

Join Gearbox Entertainment director of visual storytelling Matthew Ward (B.F.A., computer art, 1999) for a no-holds barred Q&A on the world of creative direction.

Matthew Ward has woven visual tales and creative concepts for iconic entertainment powerhouses Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Studios, Bungie, Gearbox, and more. His experience and knowledge run the gamut of storytelling from concept art and storyboards to world building, pitch presentations, animation, and beyond.

This free event, hosted by the office for career and alumni success, is open to SCAD alumni and industry professionals.
