SCAD Atlanta student media recognized at national convention
SCAD Atlanta Student Media received several awards and recognition for their work in The Connector and SCAN Magazine at the annual National College Media Convention, hosted this year in Dallas, Texas Oct. 25-29.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) and the College Media Association (CMA), featured several days of workshops, lectures, keynote speakers, critiques and award ceremonies. Awards were judged based on the level of coverage and content, quality of writing, leadership, design and visual content.
CMA hosted their award ceremony Oct. 27, while ACP hosted their ceremony the following night, Oct. 28. Both ceremonies honored the best in student media organizations, collegiate journalism and individual work.

ACP Online Pacemaker Award — The Connector
CMA Pinnacle Award, Audio Slideshow — Katie Miller, First Place
ACP Advertising Award, Display Ad — Kate Pantone, Second Place
ACP Cartooning Award, Comic Panel/Strip — Amanda Semler, Third Place
ACP Design of the Year, Magazine Cover — Anya Haber, Sidney Parks, Rebecca Gerhard, Honorable Mention
ACP Cartooning Award, Editorial Cartoon — Richard Goodwin, Honorable Mention
