I am a second-year film and television student. At the beginning of 2020, I felt like I needed to try something new or set some bigger goals. I began by challenging myself to dive into the world of 3D motion media design to further expand my skill set as a digital artist. My first motion media piece below, ‘Store Bay’ is inspired by a beautiful beach back home in Trinidad and Tobago where I’d go to unwind and spend holidays.
After a week spent designing this piece, using 3D software like Cinema 4D and After Effects, I was pretty pleased with the final result (even though it took 48 hours to render). The image below is the scene which I tried to recreate.
Motion media is definitely an art form that I would love to continue learning. The ability to create realistic pieces absolutely amazes me and inspires me to do more.
Furthermore, I encourage any artist out there reading this to learn something new or try something different; it will help to understand your interests more, to expand your knowledge, and to feel a sense of accomplishment when you make progress.
