With winter approaching, I want to share all the staples that you should have in your closet to stay warm and trendy in the upcoming months. Now, these pieces are not extremely trendy, but they are fashionable and can last you multiple seasons while still being stylish.

Straight leg denim

I hate baggy jeans during the winter because of the amount of room at the bottom for cold air to get through. However, I am a huge fan of straight-leg jeans because they keep you warm while being a happy medium between skinny and mom jeans. Straight legs can be dressed up or down, and they have the beauty of transitioning through all the seasons. These are quite trendy right now, but this cut of jeans has always been something that’s been popular. They can be found everywhere, so I recommend finding a pair that fit really week and adding a sweatshirt with a coat on top … and bam! You have a super cute and trendy look that keeps you warm.

Puffer jackets

I think puffer jackets are one of the most versatile jackets. You can wear them with any outfit and they keep you really warm. They can be found for pretty cheap at Target right now and I highly suggest you go and find one you like. This is a jacket that will probably never go out of style and it keeps you incredibly warm. I love puffers for sporty outfits or more casual looks because it is the perfect addition.

Low chunky boots

Low chunky boots have to be my favorite trend right now because they look good on everyone … I promise. I am usually pretty skeptical with chunky fashion items because I am petite, but these boots flatter everyone. I love wearing mine with dresses because it makes them look more comfortable and casual while remaining trendy and cool. We have had renditions of this style every winter, so find a pair you like and break them in! Once broken in, they can be very comfortable and you will wear them with every outfit.

Chunky cable knit

The chunky cable knit sweater has been around for a very long time and is definitely here to stay. This piece can make you look more put-together and polished in an instant. My favorite way to wear this piece is with skinny denim and boots. I found my sweater in a pile of my aunt’s old clothes, so I recommend checking your family members’ closets because I am sure one of them has it. You can also look at the examples above for more ideas on how to wear this trend.

Leather trouser

The leather trousers have been a welcome addition to this year’s party because of their versatility and “coolness” factor. There are so many silhouettes you can choose from, and they range from super daring to you not even noticing that you are wearing leather pants. These pants will keep you warm while elevating your look. The first two looks in the graphic above use the leather pants as statement pieces, and they are paired with very casual elements. These pants can be found everywhere right now and this can be an easy way to step outside your comfort zone.

Hopefully, these trends inspire you to get some of these pieces and incorporate them into your wardrobe this season. All these pieces are practical, yet stylish and can be worn every year while remaining trendy.
