Updated vaccination requirement to enter the U.S.

Starting Nov. 8, in order to enter the U.S., all non-U.S. citizens (F-1 visa holders) MUST show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two weeks after final dose) AND show proof of a negative COVID test. This is a change from the prior policy, which did not require COVID-19 vaccination to enter the U.S. If you are planning to travel outside the U.S. during winter break, please be prepared to meet this requirement to re-enter the U.S. More information on the vaccine requirement can be found on the CDC website.

Visit SCAD COVID-19 webpage for timely updates regarding the SCAD policy on COVID-19. Note that vaccination requirements may change again before the beginning of the winter quarter.

Winter break updates

Continuing international students with active I-20s are reminded that they must have a valid travel signature on their SEVIS I-20 to re-enter the U.S. Travel signatures are valid for one year and are located on page 2 of your SEVIS I-20. Students should submit a travel signature request form if they need a new endorsement.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing for Students

SCAD students must continue to get weekly COVID tests providing negative results for the purpose of their SCAD COVID verification until they are fully vaccinated. Students who are obtaining the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines are not considered fully vaccinated until two weeks after their second dose. This means that students must continue to visit a SCAD testing clinic until they are considered fully vaccinated. Students should not upload their proof of vaccination until two weeks after their second dose. For more information and SCAD testing clinic hours, visit scad.edu/coronavirus.

SCAD Housing during the Winter Break

Students who are interested in winter break housing should submit a request by emailing residence life from their SCAD student email account no later than Friday, Nov. 5. If students have a specific roommate request, both roommates must list each other in their request email. While limited space is available over the winter break, it is not guaranteed. Students will be notified of availability and further directions on Monday, Nov. 8. If you have any questions, please contact SCAD residence life and housing directly at 912.525.7000 or reslife@scad.edu.
