attachmscFashion designer Isabel Toledo and artist Ruben Toledo will be honored Saturday, May 16, at SCAD’s annual fashion show in Savannah, SCAD officials announced in a news release.

The husband and wife will receive the Andre Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award. Talley, Vogue editor-at-large and the award’s namesake, and SCAD President Paula Wallace will present the award during the 8 p.m. show, according to the release.

Isabel Toledo’s career in fashion spans more than two decades. Her most recent designs include first lady Michelle Obama’s yellow inauguration dress. Yale University Press is expected to release a retrospective exhibit and catalog of the fashion designer’s work later this year, according to the release.

Ruben Toledo’s work includes illustrations for top fashion magazines and journals, and he has created several images and installations for designers and stores including, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany & Co. and Barney’s.

Tickets for the 2008 SCAD Fashion Show matinee at 4 p.m. are $20 each for general admission and $10 with a SCAD ID. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $50 for general admission and $25 with a SCAD ID.
