Yi-Hsin Tzeng, one of SCAD-Atlanta’s most promising graduate painting students, will be featured in “Minus: an exhibition” at Studioplex, 659 Auburn Avenue, Suite #143, Atlanta, Ga. The exhibition features emerging artists from throughout the country and several different minority communities, including Black, Latino, Asian and LGBT.  The opening reception is Friday, June 26, 7-9 p.m. The studio is open for viewing June 27 and July 11, noon – 3 p.m. and for Studioplex’s “Second Wednesday” event, July 8, 6-8 p.m. Viewings on all other days are by appointment.

The show’s title, “Minus,” reflects the under-representation of minorities and women in the art world. This group exhibition is designed to manifest the influence of the “minority” on contemporary culture and the art world. Works have been created in multiple mediums, including painting, sculpture, video installation, performance and photography, and address issues of identity: gender, sexuality, culture and the body.
