The Connector
The Connector

Friday, September 10 was the second day of New York’s Spring/Summer 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Women and men, young and old flocked to see the fashions at Lincoln Center. This is the first year that the Center is serving as host to the event. Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center is a larger venue that has been transformed in to four separate avenues; The Theatre (holds up to 1000 guests), The Stage (up to 800), The Studio (up to 390) and The Box (more informal).

Inside, attendees watched the traditional geometric patterns and prints of Tadashi and guests learned how to achieve the season’s hottest hair from BCBG Max Azria. Guests gazed as men’s fashion from Duckie Brown and Buckler by Andrew Buckler were presented. The second day ended with elegant styles from Ports 1961 leaving onlookers with new inspiration for their Spring/Summer shopping.

Outside, those unable to see the shows watched the next best thing — the fashions of the attendees. View our photo gallery of MBFW guests as they strut to their seats. First timer Alondeia Chaney said that she came to see the events because “this is where all the fashion in the world goes down … New York City. Everybody everywhere looks at what is happening here and how style and fashion are moving forward this year.”
