SCAN Magazine: Fall 2011 issue call for submissions
Depending on where you’re from, “the South” can mean different things. Even if you’re no native, you live here now, which makes you an active participant in the culture conversation of Atlanta and its diverse surrounding areas.
For the Fall 2011 issue of SCAN Magazine, we are interested in what the South means to you — its rhythms and twangs, its vigor and its idleness, its promises and failures.
How does the place you live impact the way you produce your art? How has your work developed or changed based on the South’s influence? What do you accept? What do you reject? What do you notice around you? Show us.
Our major showcase will highlight graphic design and interior design — students in these fields of study should submit 3-5 pieces of portfolio-quality work that addresses this theme, as well as an artist statement.
We also welcome your writing (fiction, creative nonfiction, max 2000 words) and photography.
All contributors must be current SCAD Atlanta students in good standing. Email your content (or questions) to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 30.
