With skin care products topping the value of gold per ounce, many people turn to the internet for inexpensive do-it-yourself recipes for their skin concerns. Here are three DIY face masks for common skin problems.

Oatmeal honey mask for sensitive skin

cup of ground oatmeal

1 tablespoon of honey

2 tablespoons of yogurt

The texture of the oatmeal doubles as an exfoliator and is gentle on sensitive skin. Honey has anti-inflammatory properties that can diminish acne flare-ups. This mask is also great for oily skin.

Honey avocado mask for dry skin

½ ripe avocado

1 tablespoon of honey

1 tablespoon of yogurt

Rich in healthy fatty acids, avocados diminish the appearance of fine lines and serve as an excellent moisturizer. Honey is a humectant which keeps moisture locked in the skin.

Banana honey mask for fine lines and wrinkles

1 small ripe banana

1 tablespoon of honey

Bananas are rich in amino acid which strengthens connective tissue and helps skin maintain its elasticity. Bananas also contain lectin which kills bacteria that causes acne. This mask is also great for oily skin.
