Vivrant Beauty is an ecommerce beauty business dedicated to providing men and women of color with a variety of beauty, skin and hair products. The business was created by former lawyer Desiree Verdejo, who left her career in law to become an ecommerce entrepreneur in the beauty world. With a blossoming online business and the flagship store that opened July of last year, Vivrant Beauty is lessening the void and creating a space for people of color in the beauty world.
The brick-and-mortar store as well as the online business carry brands that cover concerns for people of color such as foundation colors that run the gambit, hair products for kinky-curly hair and all natural product formulations. These brands include Becca Cosmetics, Mario Badescu, Ren Skincare, Briogeo, EDEN BodyWorks, Hello Curlies, Oyin Handmade and OPI. She even features brands from local, diverse and women-owned companies such as Ginger + Liz, Oui Shave and Flo + Leo. In an interview for the New York Times Verdejo says, “There are so many amazing black-owned lines that should be on the shelves of major retailers but aren’t,” she said. “I now have an opportunity to give exposure to them.”
