Summer Love by Leila Scott

Am I Wild Enough

My weaknesses are running in front of me

making moves before I can even speak

I let them bleed for you

I let them sing for you

But they weren’t wild enough

I let them strip for you

These sheets entangled me

But even they couldn’t hide

My fears that you’d leave

I felt your heartbeat

Find a rhythm against me

A pattern on repeat

I Don’t Want To Know

Body rounds to the floor

Those words that make you weak

Tell me to focus

I don’t want you to speak

If you had the choice

Would it still be me

Pretending to be something that I’m not

I hope you don’t see

The uselessness you’re bringing out in me

Soon

You could have all that you’ve wanted to

In time, in the name of grace

Love is not a race

It’s meant for two

There’s so much we still haven’t gotten to do

In time, in the name of grace

I’ll have the chance with someone like you

When You Come Home

My thoughts wander

Trying to follow you

Wherever you are

They lose themselves

In contemplation

Visiting all the others

The ones before you

Searching for answers

Finding a place

They can make their own

Waiting for the day
