SCAD Atlanta opened their much-anticipated new residence hall FORTY for students, complete with a 24/7 coffee bar, digitized entry-way and a really creative living space that tugs the hearts of all creatives. The route to the new residence hall is through the walkway tunnels that have benches, plants and a bike rack to promote a healthier lifestyle.

FORTY boasts a coffee bar, Sketch, stocked with student essentials like paper towels, ramen, pasta, snacks and other beverages — extending it to an amenity similar to a convenience store. A variety of coffee, muffins, croissant and healthier alternatives such as protein bowls and salads are also available.

Zipporah Dorsey, a second-year writing student who’s also a RA at the new dorms said, “The energy is amazing because of the new necessities we have like the coffee bar, Sketch and the digitized laundry. Everyone who lives and visits FORTY is already in love with the new residence hall!”

The co-living space comes with two bedrooms shared by two students, a living space, a stand-up shower, a restroom and a kitchen furnished with a dishwasher, a stove-cum-oven, a microwave and a fridge. They also have a moderately sized pantry and a coat closet. Over all, the interiors of the residence hall have a raw concrete look that keeps the interiors cool.

Elizabeth Erwin, a fourth-year Fashion student said, “This is a really modern living space that makes the residence halls feel a lot more like home.” Erwin also mentioned, “Now that I’ve got an oven, I could make pizza here!”
