The creative behind this musical homage is fourth-year illustration student Roxy Urquiza Flores.

This piece pays tribute to Daft Punk, an electronic music duo that is largely credited for influencing a lot of modern pop and electronic music styles of today. For Flores, the influence of the creative duo manifested itself into their reason to start drawing. It was through finding their music that Flores was able to discover their first digital art community through the online forum known as Deviant Art. This led to Flores being gifted with a drawing tablet on their birthday soon after, a device on which they exclusively drew fan art dedicated to Daft Punk.

After a while, Flores ventured into other areas of subjects for their art, but they returned to this duo as a response to their recent retirement. The helmeted personas of the band have become like characters whose legacy the creative fans of the band, such as Flores, can continue to honor through creating art that immortalizes them through multiple artists’ interpretations.

This is not the first time that Flores’ art has been featured on here, and it definitely will not be the last. However, in case this is your first time viewing their wonderful art and want to see more, check out their Instagram.
