The Connector
The Connector

The fourth of final installment of “Hanoian Days,” I project I started two years ago as I first started at The Connector as Opinions Editor. Now, as a fourth-year student poised to graduate come Fall, it seems apparent that this ongoing series must come to an end. It is fitting. The two years I spent back home in Hanoi, Vietnam, when these photos were captured, was the last break I had before going back to the United States, before the inevitable legal circus of CTPs and OTPs, of work visas and immigration lottery. I do not know when I will be able to see my hometown again or, when I do, if it will signal my professional success or failure. I leave you these photos as my mementos of better days, when these concepts were still far up ahead, when the present only consisted of street vendors, rusty French gates and the sun.
