“Comfortable Walls” is a short portrait film by third-year film and television student Manas Sinha. Backed by a nostalgic piano track from Studio Ghibli’s “Howl’s Moving Castle” and emulating a faded film look, the 2-minute short is narrated by and features fourth-year sequential art student Kenbi Ross. Sinha’s goal was to demonstrate the pressures of being away from home and the environment that you create from that independence by composing shots that looked familiar and nostalgic. It is a fantastic sample of student work that nails the direction and cinematography.
