President and founder of  SCAD, Paula S. Wallace, posted the above photo on Instagram captioned, “Hello, new Bees 🐝! We’ve had so much fun welcoming the class of 2023 to the #SCADAtlanta hive and opening our newest student residence, FORTY 🎉. From disco balls in the laundry room, to unique commissioned #SCADalumni art on each floor, to the city skyline as your canvas — there’s a lot for you to explore!”

First-year interior design student Maria Ramirez said, “So far, I’ve really liked FORTY. It’s such a close community, everyone hangs out here. It’s a creative place, which helps you to stay inspired and create more.”

Mustafa Tikiwala, a second-year film and television student, said, “I like how connected everything is at FORTY; all your friends are in one place, you can get food, it’s really convenient. There’s also a SCAD food truck outside, which is cool. I think it’s a huge step up from Spring House in terms of the quality of living.”

Alexis Gaither, a third-year film and television student, said, “Sketch (food and coffee bar) is my favorite thing about FORTY. It’s so convenient and I’ve been spending all my dining dollars here! I also love the all-denim artwork and decor on my floor.”
