Halloween has always been one of the most popular holidays because one gets to celebrate it dressing up in looks from iconic movies, TV shows and characters. But, there are some  that don’t like the idea of wearing an outrageous costume and that’s where fashion takes its place. There are other alternatives one can turn too in order to dress up including elaborate eye makeup, hairstyles and fancy outfits. Here’s just a few ideas that cover a TV show, a fashion theme and a character to help you get started in brainstorming.

“Euphoria”

If you would like to go for dressing up pretty and having fun with makeup and hair, Rue and Jules, characters on the popular HBO show “Euphoria” could be an idea. This Halloween trend was seen on Danna Paola, singer and actress from Netflix series, “Elite,” who partnered with co-star Georgina Amoros to portray Rue and Jules from the show.

Paola arrived to a Halloween party in a simple tux, her hair styled done up and “Euphoria” themed eye makeup, which is a great way to put in use the popularity of heavy glitter.

Amoros wore a white dress, angel wings and glittery eye makeup. The show gained a lot of praise since its release and it seems that it has raised its popularity as a potential source for Halloween costume.

‘60s Night Out

If an easy Halloween costume is the ideal way to spend your night, Danielle Marcan has a ‘60s Night Out makeup tutorial up on her Instagram ADD INSTAGRAM HANDLE. Marcan is an Instagram personality that has become viral for her one minute makeup videos that involve glitter, color and bold lines. She challenges her viewer’s makeup skills by separating from the norm with a geometric look and shades one wouldn’t usually wear everyday.

Third-year fashion student Taylor Swann said, “I think it’s okay depending on how it is done. But it is also low-key lazy if you just wear all black and bedazzle your face!”  Marcan’s instagram video tutorial is also another easy and fun direction to take this Halloween.

A modern Ariel

Second-year fashion design student Fiona Kelly– illustrated a modern day Ariel to inspire a Halloween costume. Without relying on the stereotypical shell bra and green mermaid tail, this fashion illustration is an option for casual Halloween glamour.

Kelly’s ‘Ariel’ wears a pair of torn green jeans, a sheer, ruffled top and a  pink shell bra layered over it. Lastly, your modern- day Ariel costume is topped off with a red wig and some high heels.

Third-year fashion marketing and management student Laken Rae said, “It’s a super chic Ariel. I love how her pants are distressed and it almost gives the impression that she’s ripping through her fin to reveal her legs.”
