Diwali, also known as the ‘festival of lights’ marks the start of a new year in the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all over the world. Countries such as India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Triniad and Tobago among others celebrate this festival.

Viren Shah, a third-year fashion student said,”Diwali is absolutely my favorite time of the year. The rituals, tasty food, wearing traditional clothes and of course the meaningful messages such as the triumph of good over evil, all make this event so much fun. It’s truly a great time to be with friends and family and to celebrate the Hindu New Year.”
