Over the winter break, I had the opportunity to explore the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden in Delray Beach, Fla. It was one of the most peaceful and serene places I’ve ever visited and getting a taste of what Japanese art and culture are like was a treat.

Being a pretty new photographer, I truly enjoyed capturing the beauty of the garden and hope to continue visiting and experiencing more tranquil places like this throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

While there, I was able to explore the art of bonsai in the bonsai exhibition, and got a glimpse into the art and technique of training and sculpting a bonsai.

There are six gardens in the entire Japanese garden, with cute bird house-like signs stating which garden you’d be entering, as well as what the garden represents.

If I ever do visit Delray Beach again, this would definitely be one of the first places I’d return to as it really was more than what I expected it to be.
