How much would you pay to visit a galaxy far, far away? At Walt Disney World’s newest resort, the “Star Wars”: Galactic Starcruiserguests are immersed in the “Star Wars” universe. Guests get to meet their childhood heroes, eat exciting new foods and have exclusive access to one of the Disney parks. However, this comes at a bold price. For a family of four to stay for the two-night experience, it’ll cost about $6000.

Hotel guests boarding the “Halcyon” stay in rooms resembling cabins in space ships, with three options to choose from: the Standard Cabin, the Galaxy Class Suite and the Grand Captain Suite. A standard room sleeps four to five people with a queen-size bed, two bunk beds and a pull-down bed that sleeps one adult. All hotel rooms include a view of space and an interactive TV that also shows things from “your home planet.” Other hotel room amenities include the typical hair dryer, mini-fridge, safe, and phone. If you’re feeling fancy, the Grand Captain’s suite offers two bedrooms and a “posh living space” with seating to enjoy your view of planets passing by.

The hotel is very immersive, allowing guests to partake in Jedi training and challenge their friends to a game of “sabacc.” Visitors also choose which shows and entertainments they will take part in, for which the hotel offers a schedule to plan accordingly. You can take tours of the facility, experience “storylines” during your stay, and even get boarded onto a vehicle by the First Order. If you’re a true fanatic, feel free to dress up in your best galactic wear and meet your favorite character; Chewbacca, Rey, and Kylo Ren are a few beloved characters that come aboard.

While at the hotel, guests receive complimentary meals from the park’s best chefs. Crown of Corellia, the lunch buffet, is available with a variety of out-of-this-world selections, ranging from bubbly cheese bread with red fruit soup to blue Bantha milk fruit whip, a mysterious sparkly blue dessert. Not to mention, all guests enjoy all-you-can-drink blue or green milk, a fan favorite among those who have previously visited Galaxy’s Edge.

Many Disney Parks enthusiasts question if the resort is worth the price. Some have argued that a luxury price tag should come with more resort amenities, like a pool and spa. Others disagree, reasoning that the experience is worth the price for the immersive and interactive aspect alone. Staying at “Star Wars”: Galactic Starcruiser also includes admission into Hollywood Studios and a guaranteed “Lightning Lane Pass” to Galaxy’s Edge attractions: “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run” and “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.” Considering Smuggler’s Run can get up to a five-hour wait on popular park days, many guests think that the people who are complaining about the price simply aren’t making enough out of their stay.

However, the small, 100 room hotel is not selling like Disney had hoped. There’s still plenty of availability for the rest of the year, even in typically busy months like August. Compared to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort that has little availability for August and comparable room prices ($1,000 a night in some rooms), why isn’t Galactic Starcruiser doing as well? It could be that the Star Wars franchise fits a more niche audience. So, is it worth it? If you have a love for Star Wars, like to role-play, and have the budget, the Galactic Starcruiser may be the best vacation you’ll ever have.
