Kanye West is well known for his creative projects, from music to marketing campaigns for himself. However, he is especially well known for his contribution to fashion and his controversy to street-wearers. West’s global brand, Yeezy or “YZY,” has made waves for years, including his Yeezy slides that critics compared to “jail sandals” and his tattered sweat pants and sweatshirts that some fans deemed as “homeless couture.”

Currently, West is trending for his clothing once again, but not just because of the silhouettes of his garments — it’s because of the stage appearance he made at his listening party, in an outfit that heavily resembles one of his favorite anime characters.

Back in 2018 West posted a tweet compaing his work to “Akira.”

Based on his statements, a lot of fans connected the dots between these tweets and his public appearance at the “DONDA” listening party, which occurred at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

His outfit consisted of unreleased Yeezy boots, his Yeezy collaboration jacket with Gap and, of course, his statement piece: a full face mask.

The important part in all of this is that West also stated that he will be living in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium until his project is released. It will be interesting to see what he decides to appear in at his album release event. Because he’s been living in the stadium, one wouldn’t be surprised if he wears the same outfit. But for his close fans, the anticipation is growing, and there is no doubt that whatever he wears will be mesmerizing.
