The star-studded cast, the magnitude of the film and the legacy of the story were all enough to bring audiences to theatres to watch the sci-fi film, “Dune.” However, the red carpet and press look by Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet are some of the best red carpet looks I have seen this year. Zendaya, with the help of stylist Law Roach, always manages to look absolutely incredible and unique at every red carpet event, but Chalamet definitely held his own and complimented Zendaya’s looks perfectly.

London Photocall

This morning’s London photocall look was fresh and grounded at the same time. Zendaya opted for a Vivienne Westwood ensemble that was basically a piece of art, and my jaw dropped when I saw it. The layered chains with a leather harness, and the slightest side boob made for a top that was unique and classy. The matching brown and white checkered skirt perfectly complimented the top, while creating a statement of its own. Chalamet also made a very bold statement, wearing a fully printed, light blue Stella McCartney suit. I love the cottage-core inspiration and how whimsical the whole look is and how both of them decided to wear British designers. Even though their looks are very different from each other, in a very weird way, their looks don’t clash. They complement each other perfectly while keeping their own individuality.

Paris Premiere

I could not take my eyes off Zendaya at the Paris premiere. She wore a Maison Alaïa two-piece outfit with Jimmy Choo shoes and finished the look with natural glam makeup and robust curls. Alaïa, known for their silhouettes, created a top that looked like it was made for her body. The lines of this outfit were spectacular, and overall the look was different and uber glam. Chalamet wore a Tom Ford denim suit and looked very handsome, but it was nothing particularly exciting compared to Zendaya. They both looked great next to each other, but I expected more from Chalamet as he is not afraid to have fun with his looks.

I am absolutely speechless. Both Zendaya and Chalamet had looks that were powerful, strong, iconic and classy. They complemented each other beautifully and absolutely won the red carpet. Chalamet wore an Alexander McQueen suit which had zippers throughout the piece. It looked very modern and industrial while still being cool and fun. Zendaya dressed in a couture gown by Rick Owens and absolutely owned the dress. Rick Owens’s clothing is something that takes over and often overwhelms people, but Zendaya glowed in the dress and looked extremely confident.

Cannes Premiere

I saved the best for last, and it is the Cannes Film Festival premiere. When I first saw Zendaya’s dress, I was astonished to see the craftsmanship and the attention to detail and technique in the dress. She wore a custom Balmain “wet look” leather dress. The entire dress is leather and is constructed in a way to look like she just came out of the water. Her wet hair and makeup went beautifully with the look, and it was finished off with a showstopping Bvlgari necklace. Chalamet complemented her beautifully and let her shine, but his look was also so dapper and classic. “Chalamet teamed an eye-catching, black crystal-encrusted Haider Ackerman power suit with Cartier rings and bracelet and of course, a pair of black shades,” (High Snobiety). The outfit was well-tailored and the lines were crisp, but I am personally a fan of the sunglasses. Sunglasses on the red carpet can often come off looking cringy, but he made it look like the coolest thing you can do.

The movie reviews have been divisive, but I think we can all agree that these red carpet looks were absolutely breathtaking, bold and just beautiful. Both of them are really coming into their own with their fashion and are creating looks that we will be talking about for years to come.
