Sustainable beauty is something I am truly passionate about, however, when I was younger, sustainable beauty was quite expensive and unattainable. Fortunately, over the last couple of years, many amazing brands have come out with products that are sustainable and effective. Target has really spearheaded this initiative and has introduced so many incredible brands, all under the $20 price range. Below are my favorite brands that are available online and at your local Target.

Anomoly Haircare

Anomaly Haircare is a brand that is exclusively available at Target, and all of the products are under $10. The brand was founded by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and their slogan is, “We bring you quality haircare without compromise so that you can have beautiful hair without costing the Earth.” I am absolutely in love with these products because of how affordable they are and because all of their product containers are 100% made out of trash. They mention that they “spend less on packaging to spend more on superior, class-leading formulas.” All their products also have great ingredients and don’t have any harmful chemicals. “We carefully select all our ingredients so that they’re safe for you, your hair and the environment. Our nourishing formulations are 100% clean, vegan and cruelty-free and contain no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil and the other no-no’s.” The shampoo and conditioner are only $6 and are so effective. I personally use the Clarifying Shampoo, Hydrating Shampoo and the Shine Conditioner.

Hey Humans

Hey Humans is another new brand available at Target. The brand was co-founded by Jada Pinkett-Smith with all their products under $6 and the packaging is made of aluminum and paper. All the products are vegan and cruelty-free, and the ingredients are clean and naturally derived. They have all types of body and hair care products that are highly effective, aesthetically pleasing and affordable. With a price tag like this, anyone can incorporate sustainable beauty into their routine.

The Honest Company

The Honest Company is really the company that spearheaded attainable sustainable beauty. The company has a baby line, makeup, skincare, body care, hair care and cleaning supplies. The brand was founded by Jessica Alba, and she said, “Health and wellness are a universal foundation for a life well-lived and I believe it’s our responsibility to leave the world better than when we found it. We care about all people and the planet.” Their products are in the $15-$30 price range and are loved by everyone who uses them. They are available at Target and online.

I encourage you to take a field trip to Target and go to the clean beauty aisle and look at all the products that are available. All the products are very aesthetically pleasing, affordable and sustainable. It is no longer expensive to be sustainable so find some products that work for you.
