Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon 5K, Mile & Dash – Nov. 25

If you feel like burning some calories before the turkey, sign up for this Atlanta tradition. No matter if you’re running, jogging or walking, the event will start underneath the Olympic Rings in Centennial Park and end at the Georgia State Stadium with post-race celebration. It’s a race for the whole family, with all ages being welcome to participate. You’ll also get a festive Mizuno shirt and medal, which will give you definite bragging rights for your Thanksgiving dinner.

Rock Out at the Hard Rock Cafe’s “Legendary” Thanksgiving Dinner – Nov. 25 

If your friends and family are looking for a more non-traditional way to spend the holiday, head on down to the Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown Atlanta. They’ll be serving up Thanksgiving classics, along with pumpkin pie covered in ‘caramel sauce, toasted walnuts and house-made whipped cream.’ Mix that with some classic music memorabilia, and you’re sure to have a rockin’ time.

Take a Load off at a Free Yoga Class – Nov. 25

Between cooking, family and sometimes Black Friday shopping, Thanksgiving can cause a significant amount of stress. That’s why Korsi Yoga in Roswell is offering a free 75 minute session for up to 50 people, promoting the ‘Attitude of Gratitude.’

Gorge on all you can eat seafood at the Sunday Funday Blue Crab Feast and Fish Fry – Nov. 28

Have a different kind of Thanksgiving at the SouthEast Crab Feast in South Downtown Atlanta. This event will provide all you can eat blue crab and a side of fish and chips, along with all of the best seafood dipping sauces. If you happen to be a crab connoisseur, feel free to bring your own special seasoning and crab mallet for the best experience possible. 

This event will be COVID-19 safe, with masks being required despite vaccination status, and social distancing being heavily encouraged.

Take a cooking class with Publix’s Cooking School in Alpharetta, Georgia – Multiple Dates in November

With every holiday comes holiday meals, and there’s no better place to learn how to cook than with Publix’s Cooking School. All classes are from $50 and up, and offer a wide variety of lessons led by an expert chef. Demonstration is the backbone for the expert Publix classes, so you’re free to sit back, taste their cooking, and absorb all the knowledge you need for your own meals. For family friendly lessons, it’s completely hands-on, so prepare to get messy!

Treat your family to a Murder Mystery Show – Nov. 27

Although a few days after thanksgiving, this interactive dinner show is sure to impress anyone who’s still in town. Held at the Sonesta Hotel Northwest, this is America’s largest interactive mystery show where everyone gets to play along. Dinner is included with your ticket, and a full bar is available as well. Keep a close eye on the show, and you might end up winning Top Sleuth, along with a generous prize. 

This event is for those 15 years old and older, so make sure to leave the young ones at home. Also keep in mind the use of the prop guns and simulated gunshot sound effects.
