The Connector

February is coming and, with it, the stress and dread of what to do for Valentine’s Day. Worry not! The Connector has a list of special events and classes in the Atlanta area that you can partake to make this February fun and memorable.

1. “Whale” you be my Valentine?

The Georgia Aquarium beluga whales can’t wait to see you at this event!

Take a plunge with the Georgia Aquarium and enjoy a Valentine’s dinner with your favorite underwater creatures. This is a unique way to experience the Aquarium, enjoying drinks, dining options and dancing under the sea. Who wouldn’t want to spend Love Day with seahorses, jellyfish and of course, Atlanta’s famous whale sharks!

This event is 21+ only. Buy your tickets here.

2. A paw-fect act of love

Who wouldn’t want a cute puppy sent to them?

PAWS Animal Shelter is thinking outside the chocolate box with these personalized Valentine’s. When you donate to the Stories of Love Campaign, PAWS will send a card, either digital or physical, to your special someone. Each card will feature a shelter pet, either a “cute cat or dynamite dog” posed with Valentine props and decor. If you want to donate the max amount of $250, you’ll even get a social media shout out.

Get your Valentines on the PAWS website. To adopt an animal, click here.

3. Light up your world with a custom candle making class

These candles are hand-poured, organic, and topped with flowers.

What’s more romantic than candles? Custom candles, of course! Join Ellis Station Candle Co. with your partner, friends, or family to make this memorable Valentine’s present. Complimentary desserts and wine will be offered as well to make the night truly sweet.

Buy your tickets here.

4. Build-A-Board workshop

This is a perfect treat for your February 14th activities.

Relax and take it cheesy with this charcuterie crash course. You’ll learn the ins and outs of everything cheese board, guided through the craft of making the perfect display, including styling tips, drink pairings, and the perfect combination of ingredients. Take your masterpiece home to your honey, or enjoy it on your own.

You’ll be provided with a 13 inch bamboo board and all food supplies. Seating is limited to only 15 guests, so get your tickets ASAP!

5. A brief act of charity

Race for the neurofibromatosis cure with this fun run.

Do something good this Valentine’s day and take part in Atlanta’s annual Cupid’s Undie Run. Simply strip down to your undergarments, run a mile, and help find a cure for neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. Cupid’s Charity, the organizer of the race, has raised millions over the years for NF research, and your contribution could make this year the best year yet. Join a team or make your own with friends, and make your Valentine’s a feel good holiday.

7. Support a local artist at a outdoor pop-up artist market
