Show your skills at SCAD Animation Design Challenge

All international students are invited to participate in the spring quarter SCAD Animation Design challenge, sponsored by ISSO. Even if you don’t study animation, you can still show off your ideas.
Students will work in groups of two to five people to create a character sheet. If your group is chosen, you will present your character sheet in front of the animation faculty to compete for three top prizes.
The top three groups will work with animation professor Matthew Maloney throughout the quarter and will have an opportunity to present their ideas at Atlantamation, a SCAD event featuring short animated film screenings, on Friday, May 25.

Challenge rules and suggestions:
  • All current graduate and undergraduate students can enter. Your team can include any combination of majors, as long as it includes at least one international student.
  • Your character sheet must be in a PDF format and include the names and student ID numbers of all the members of your group.
  • Once completed, email the pdf to issoatl@scad.edu by noon, Friday, April 6. Late entries will not be accepted.
  • The animation faculty committee will decide which groups will move to the next round.
  • Groups chosen to present their ideas will be required to give a three- to four-minute presentation about their character sheet starting at 2 p.m., Friday, April 13, at the SCAD Digital Media Center Theater.
  • The presentation should be well rehearsed and timed, and every member of your team should explain his or her part in the design concept.
  • Three groups will be named winners at the end of the presentations.
