During the ’90s, Walt Disney Animation Studios went through a major transformation when they began releasing a constant stream of successful animated films following an extended period of struggle during the ’70s and ’80s. Often referred to as the Disney Renaissance, this period of time lasting from 1989 to 1999 featured the return of the Disney musical and some breathtaking animation techniques that moved the industry into exciting directions, resulting in some of the studio’s most acclaimed works.

This quarter, SCAD Cinema Circle is honoring this crucial period with a showcase of arguably three of the most influential films. All films will be screened at the SCADshow theater located at 173 14th St. The event is free for SCAD card holders, $3 for seniors and non-SCAD students and $5 for the general public. SCAD shuttles will be provided and concessions will be available for purchase.
