The Connector: What can the audience expect that’s new for the fashion show?

Jones: I think that the audience can expect a wide variety of unique and diverse student work. From more classical pieces to avant-garde, from feminine to masculine. I think this year’s show has it all. Even the techniques that some designers have implemented within their pieces are very intricate and mind blowing. We are surely in for a treat.

The Connector: What do you think about the Atlanta campus getting its own fashion show?

Jones: I’m so glad that they decided to bring the show to Atlanta this year. Atlanta is filled with so much culture and heritage, and SCAD Atlanta contributes to that. I think that the show will attract new eyes and new opportunities to the fashion students. I also think it’s great that the show is here this year, due to the SCAD Atlanta campus continuing to grow and expand.

The Connector: What can the audience expect to see models wearing at the show?

Nguyen: Definitely a wide range of aesthetics and styles from different designers.

The Connector: How do you feel about modeling in the first Atlanta fashion show?

Nguyen: It is an honor to be a part of the first Atlanta fashion show. I’m not only excited, but also nervous. To be honest, I don’t really know how it will turn out. Stay tuned and get ready for it.

Anna Maria Brady
Third-year fashion design student
Assistant

The Connector: Can the audience expect anything new in terms of show presentation?

Brady: The presentation is new every year — however you can expect a much more Atlanta campus take on the whole experience. If you don’t know what this entails, you will just have to come and find out first hand.

The Connector: How do you feel about the Atlanta campus getting its own runway show?

Brady: It excites me. As a rising senior and someone who has helped in the fashion show at both campuses since my freshman year, I have long awaited the day that Atlanta would be given its own spotlight. The university is only getting larger, and the fashion courses are growing in size as a result; by splitting the campuses, more students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in the senior show. On top of this, I predict that each show will have completely different aesthetics and feelings to them, with the separation of the campuses, we will be able to see the different design tendencies of each location.

The Connector: What is it like being trained by Miss J?

Tara: Training with Miss J is so much fun. He has really helped me with my runway walk, and I’m now much more confident. He is a true legend.

The Connector: What do you think is so special about the Atlanta campus getting its own fashion show?

Tara: It’s great that the Atlanta campus is getting its own show since it has always been in Savannah, and we normally just have the static show. I’m excited to see the outcome.
