Two weeks ago, I shared the best thrift stores around Atlanta. But what if you are not in Atlanta? Or you just do not like going to thrift stores because they can be overwhelming? Well, today I am going to tell you all about my three favorite second-hand, thrift, and consignment stores on the internet.

Going to a thrift store can be unpredictable and challenging. You have no guarantee of what you will find. There is often no order in these stores, so finding items can seem overwhelming. However, over the past couple of years, there has been an increase in online markets where there is order and means to find exactly what you need.

1. ThreadUp

ThreadUp is like a traditional thrift store. You can sell your clothes to them, and then they sell them to other customers through their online platform at a slight upcharge. The reason I love this company is that you can put filters on your search and find exactly the size and brand you are looking for. They have high standards on what is allowed on their website, so you will only see gently used products from big brands. Their packaging is also sustainable and they make selling clothes to them very simple. Definitely check this brand out to get some great deals on trendy clothing while being more sustainable.

2. Poshmark

Poshmark is closer to eBay than it is to a thrift store since it is consumer-to-consumer, but it is for second-hand clothing. You can list any type of fashion products, and customers can shop from you. There are profiles for all sellers where you can go check what they are selling, or you can just look up specific products. You can sell all sorts of items, whether they are simple and affordable or expensive and luxurious. My favorite part about Poshmark is that you can negotiate with sellers. I have sold and bought through Poshmark, and I had a great experience.

3. The RealReal

If you are looking to purchase luxury items and don’t want to pay the retail price, this online store is perfect for second-hand luxury items. They have a huge online platform, and there are brick-and-mortar stores in Los Angeles and New York City. Buying luxury items second-hand can be difficult because there are so many fake versions of products, but RealReal authenticates all their products before they are sold. Every luxury buyer says that this is their favorite way to buy second-hand because the online platforms are very easy to use and they can have peace of mind that their products are authenticated.

These three companies are my absolute favorite to shop second-hand from online, but there are many other companies out there that are doing the same thing.

These online platforms are making thrifting and buying second-hand even easier. You can now be sustainable from the comfort of your home and find pieces you absolutely love.
